Re-bores - Where to get required parts?
« on: 01 February 2006, 12:19 »
Guys

I have a few issues with my MK2 at the moment, I recon that the head gasket hasn't got much longer and I'm becoming increasingly annoyed with the air-leak from the exhaust manifold to cylinder head.

Anyway, since I have to take half the engine to pieces to get the head gasket sorted I thought now might be as good a time as any to get it bored out so wondering what parts I would need, where I would get them and what sort of budget I would be looking at.

Also, what sort of sizes are we looking at being able to reliably increase to with a standard 1.8 8v?

Cheers

Ian

Alright Ian

it might be easier/cost effective to get a 2.0 bottom end, straight swap!
