Can't get my knob off!

Hi guys, just bought my first Golf and was wanting to swap the metal Sparco gearknob, for a nice leather one i've just bought. Any ideas how to get the Sparco one off, there doesn't seem to be any grub screws or the like.
Cheers,

r u sure there are no small screws underneath some sort of cover? have you tried simply untwisting it? have u tried lookin for instructions of how to fit the said knob and then do it in reverse?

Excellent, thanks! Don't know why I didn't think of that. There was a collar at the base of the knob that unscrewed to access grub screws.
I now have a lovely new shiny Knob . . . and the wife seems to like it too!
Cheers.
