Does anybody know how to set about turing standard wipers into a single wiper. i heard you can take one wiper off and turn around the motor? i have seen it done and it looks quite good.

you can but you have to do a bit of cutting and welding( i believe, well you do on mk2's) to lengthen the arm driven by the motor so that it makes the wiper arm sweep further. this does tend to put strain on the motor though.
or if you want a pro job look up monostyle or storm single wipers. i think its

only about £100 and i gues you know it'll work.

I bought a bonrath wiper from ebay, it was fairly straight forward to fit (especially as i stood back and let my brother do it for me) and was only £80 inc p+p x
