If the pipe and shroud is missing no wonder you're getting carb icing, you defo need the shroud in place as mine stalled almost every day going to work without it :(

I used 2 jubilee clips bolted together to hold on my replacement shroud, as both the bolts had snapped!

yea i am tryin to get hold of the heat sheild and pipe. jus been checkin places like scrappy's but no luck.  :sad:

Yeah, i had meant to say that too, slipped my mind  :rolleyes: Like i said though, VW have them, will be the best place as i've only ever seen a few in scrap cars, and have mostly rusted away! Mine is a bit rusty, i've a few holes, but it doesnt seem to affect it!

i asked http://www.gpcvwaudi.com/ and they said they have the parts ( heat sheild, pipe and i also need a cambelt cover) all for £37.80 with postage n packaging. is that a good price??
