Seat Handles
« on: 17 December 2005, 18:46 »
Organisys kindly informed me that even though my seats have now handles to make them go forwards, it has the mechanism waiting for the handles.
My question is, can I make the mechanism work while I dont have these handles, you know, like using a screwdriver or something? Because I really need to get them folding forwards for me...

yes you can, i did for abit until i changed my seat covers to frames which already had the mechanism on, with the handles
if you look down the back of the seat youll see on either side the hook shaped piece of metal that is lached onto a cylinder shaped knobby bit  if they were both to be "unlached" then the seat would move forward, now on each of your seats you will have on the side that is next to the door a a peice that holds the seat in place and stops you from unhooking the lach on that side, it should undo with a screw driver but if like mine it was completely hopeless trying to undo it you should be able to make out the bit of metal that is holding it there, all you have to do is saw thru it and the seat will move happily, when thats done, to move the seat forward all you have to do is reach down to the lach on the handbrake side of each chair to unlach it and move it forward, ,,,, tho the best thing to do is just get yourself some 3 door seats, and if you wanna keep you seat covers just swap them over, i can get photos of what i mean if you want mate,

about the mechanism, its only the lach thats there, you could put the handles on and the all the rest but as far as i could see it looked like a very hard way to go about it,
I bloody hope that all made more sense than your question   :smug:
