5. Is a 5 door worth much less than a 3 ?
Found this on the internet which I thought was quite interesting - http://www.eurotaxglass.co.uk/newspublisher/headlines/older/preview_car.asp?Id=30
With reference to the "3 door or 5 door" question, the following seemed to imply that 5 doors will be worth more one day............
"The biggest question where future GTi values are concerned is: “How many doors should it have?Ââ€Â.
Daniel Curnock is the proprietor of The 80Â’s Emporium, a small independent firm specialising in enthusiasts cars from the 80s and early 90s, selling everything from hot hatches to luxury grand tourers, offers some valuable advice.
“Five-door GTis are rare, especially the 16 valve versions, as they were only introduced in late 1990Ââ€Â, notes Curnock. “Furthermore, five-door cars tend to have been owned by family and professional folk and kept longer, and not thrashed by boy racers, so they are generally far better maintained than three-door cars. Many-five door GTis have impeccable service histories, a low number of keepers and are refreshingly originalÂâ€Â. Though three-door cars will certainly be sought after in the future, the increased practicality and rarity value of the five-door may indeed give them a greater long-term market appeal and could make them the ones to go for."

Interesting read that article ... nice oneÂÂÂ
