I want to fit a momo steering to my golf, but I was wondering does it matter what boss kit you use??

I think the splineshaft is different on the earlier Mk2s. Have you tried the Momo website?

from about 87(?) VW fitted an adaptor to the column to make the spline larger, this can be removed but it isn't an easy job

Found out that your local VW de3alership have this "special" tool that is like a 2 pronged fork and they like attach it to the larger spline and pull it off!!
