MK3 Doesn't like the cold...
« on: 03 November 2005, 20:51 »
Right, bought my sister a 95 GTi the other day, cracking car, got £500 off it cos i noticed he had disconnected the ABS light- turned out to be a dodgy sensor (£19 plus vat- result). BUT in the mornibg when its cold and wet, it won't start... Had new plugs, leads, dizzy, and VAGCOM shows no problems. thing is, after it has fired up, its absolutley fine for the rest of the day, no probs at all, until the next morning, anyone got any ideas??
Having trouble keeping it on the straight and narrow?  www.powersteeringstore.co.uk

Got to be a spark problem somewhere. Get the coil checked and make sure the battery is fully charged.
Also check the starter motor for any shorts.

Its not THAT cold yet so get it sorted soon as!

i got mine about the same time last year,i had the same problem.i changed the coolent temp sender(on the outlet coolent pipe on the front right hand side on the head) this cured the cold start problem right away.
