clutch removal

Hi everyone
                i need some advice in how to remove a clutch and fly wheel so i can get to the crank oil seal.The car is an 85 Mk2 k-jet. and the clutch plate has star shape nuts would i need a special tool to do the job.

please any advice greatly excepted

yes. it's called a 'star drive' :D
halfords sell sockets to go on your ratchet. :)

yep a star drive fits- i did my clutch today.

Although the flywheel bolts have more indents than a star socket it works fine- i panicked today as i bought a set of star drives yesterday for this job and thought they wouldnt fit...phew!

Also the pressure plate is held on by 6 hex bolts, use a bar with a normal socket (splined not hex) on the crankshaft pulley to stop it turning- the bolts are torqued to 100nm and take some undoing!! :smiley:

If only my Volkswagen was as reliable as everyone else's...
