Anyway to Improve the light output?
« on: 11 January 2006, 19:14 »
Have just collected my new set of wheels.
Agreed, well worth the wait.
Collected it yesterday, just the one disappointment, I wish I'da had the money to afford Xenon's really miss 'em already.
Checked the bulbs this morning and they are the OSRAM Xenon filled bulbs so no upgrade path there, and aftermarket kits aren't EU legal it appears, from various comments I've seen.
Any thoughts on a "legal" EU approved (not my car you see)way to go to improve the headlight output?
Such sadness for what is a great car.
It just oozes   torque...
Cheers

I got PIAA Extreme White bulbs in my landrover BUT the bulbs cost around £80 a pair.

They are very very good and people oftern ask me if they are xenons!

Thanks for that, I had considered that as an option, and yet in a recent test in AutoExpress the PIAA bulbs didn't come out on top for best light output, certainly the PIAA colour temperature is very close to Xenons. Oddly enough from the AutoExpress test, where they ranked OSRAM & Phillips best, this is exactly what was fitted to my wheels. I had OSRAM XENONs for dipped, and Phillips for main beam.
Maybe I'll give it some time and see if there's a change in after market addon HID kits, and install one of these, until then I think I'll make do with a sore rear end, where I'm kicking myself.
Thanks .
Cheers

Thanks, I'll certainly consider it.
The local car store is a PIAA distributor, and the guy working there has a set of PIAA's fitted, I'll take a look and try to do a comparison between the two, and then decide.

Many Thanks
