oil level warning
« on: 02 August 2026, 16:51 »
oil level was fine, had it changed about 500 miles back, but the other day when I switched the car on, i got the "reduce oil level warning" in wife's mk8.  Checked oil level with dipstick, level seemed fine.  Warning did not come on since.  It was quite hot in my garage when warning came on - over 45 degrees celcius - could that explain it?
Current: GTI 8.5, Moonstone Gray, 5dr, Black Estorils 19''. pan, DCC
Wife's: mk8 TSI 1.5 RL, 5dr atlantic blue, DSG, Norfolk 17", pan s/r, leds
Son's: mk7.5 TSI 1.4 RL, 5dr tornado red, DSG, Singapore 17", pan s/r, leds
Before: mk6 GTI 5dr candy white, DSG, Monza Shadow 18", s/r, bi-Xenons, DCC
Even before that: mk5 GT 5dr tornado red, manual, s/r

update: keep getting the warning.  Had about 250ml of oil extracted today just to be on the safe side, still getting the warning as soon as i switch the ignition on.  Probably need to check the wiring or could be a glitch.  Still got about 4000 miles before my next service.  Any expert views?
