er, thanks! always glad to be of assistance in facilitating your forum fantasies everyone. and i'm telling you, my clutch is too stiff. it's like, stoopid stiff and nothing i can to to soften it up seems to be working.

get a new clutch cable, they take about half an hour to fit and cost about a tenner at most.

reckon? have you had experience of that causing a problem? the mechanic who works near me said it would be the clutch, but i was thinking it might be worth changing the cable. it really is crazy stifffff. hmm... thanks guys. well, the ones that helped anyways  ; )

Yup always replace the bits that might cause the problem and are cheap to fix, i mean at the end of it, whats a tenner if its has solved a problem with your clutch.

And a stiff clutch means go to the gym and work those legs. Golfs all have heavy clutches. It's what the Germans put in to scare women and children away. Apologies to all the girlies here 

for some reason i have a really light clutch and a quite stiff throttle pedal! odd!!
