Pilot Sport 4s or Pilot Sport 5?
« on: 20 November 2025, 07:33 »
Hi All,
Looking to replace two of my tyres. Currently have 4s but looking at my options. The 5’s are a newer design.
Any suggestions are greatly welcome. Thank you in anticipation.

Can’t comment on PS4’s as never had them but on my second set of PS5’s and no issues, wear well, quiet and grip well in the cold and wet.
If your fronts are worn but legal, swap front to rear so when you do choose, you’ve got the look of a full set?

I've run both, 4s are slightly stiffer and have slightly more grip, have run 5's for years now and really happy with them, had a set fitted at the weekend. Comfortable, loads of grip in wet and dry. Also depends if you're running 19's or 18's

Have you considered Continental SC7s? Gone from PS4S to these on my CS and very happy.

I have run both on 19s and would buy the PS5'S again due to cost and they last longer performance is same as PS4S 's imo. And sidewalls also look better and the newer tyres.

You would not notice a difference in either both best tyres you can put on a GTI imo.

I have done over 20k on each type in all road types and weather conditions.

Get the 5s would be my choice camskill always cheaper if you know a good local fitter who will fit them.
