Boot light not working
« on: 31 October 2025, 15:40 »
Puzzling over a mystery. My interior boot light does not work. Bulb changed, there is 12v at the connector and electrical continuity through the holder and the bulb. I've even tested the little diode installed in the bulb holder which is working correctly. Could this be a high resistance somewhere, or something else? Maybe bad earth. Any ideas where to look?

Noticed my bulb was out last week and just got round to ordering a replacement bulb.

Gone for an LED one this time. Read it has to be fitter the right way around otherwise it doesn’t work. Wouldn’t expect that is your issue here though.

Will be watching for any updates in case I have the same issue.

Good luck sorting it out

Bit of an odd one. Maybe the issue is in the switch that detects the hatch is open?

Do you know where the switch might be located? Is it in the latch?

Yes, it’s in the latch.
From memory there’s an access panel in the inside trim of the boot which will expose latch assembly bits that can be wiggled to see if the switch activates the boot light.
I’m assuming all the other interior lights work correctly(?)
