just wanted to ask your views, if its worth £129 per year to continue to use the app on your phones? not 100% sure what i will miss by not looking at my phone? or not receiving map updates?

Didn't renew, not missed it a single bit - only thing of note lost for me was the ability to use the horn and indicators remotely in the App - did i use it, no, was it a novelty, yes - do i care, NO!
I don't use the internal Nav (i use Google Maps via AA), so updates OTA aren't an issue (although i have run offline updates via the free VW download) - so this isn't worth paying for
I seem to to still have access to internet radio, so not sure why they market We Connect + highlighting this.
Online Anti Theft Alarm, good in principle yes, but you still can track your vehicle via the app without the subscription. For me not needed.

thank you, makes sense...don't want to spend any more on something which isn't 100% necessary. and MK8 is no better than MK7 in quality

I didn't pay after the first 3 years "free" ran out on mine.

The main thing I'd be "missing" was live traffic on the vw nav (updates you can do by hand like the mk7)

Android Auto and google/waze is the way forward.

Maybe if VW wanted less than £129 a year I might have done it but thats too much. Too many "only £10 a month" subscriptions these days.
