I find keeping my foot very lightly on the brake pedal when reverse manoeuvring prevents the car doing an emergency stop when it detects even the slightest thing it decides is a hazard including the tiny lip on the entrance to my garage. My neck and back thank me for it as even at crawling pace it’s pretty painful when every retardation device on the car springs into violent action.
