I picked up a dead pedal for £15 on eBay, said it was from China but arrived in less than a week. 5mins to fit today, looks much better than the plastic pedal.

The only thing with the dead pedals like yours that are easily available, is that they are for manual transmission cars, this is why they differ in shape to the one you took off, DSG dead pedals are available, but most appear to be an aluminium plate riveted to the OEM black dead pedal, I bought one like yours in the past and fitted it to a previous GTI which was fine, I bought another to fit to my current 8.5, but because of the shape difference I never fitted it, for most it won’t matter, but for me, I didn’t like that it was wrong.
Current -
8.5 GTI, Dolphin, Pan roof, Area view, DCC, Queenstown wheels, HUD, HK, Spare wheel.

Gone -
2022 Mk8 GTI DSG, Kings Red.
2020 BMW M135i xDrive, Storm Bay Metallic.
2016 Mk7 GTI DSG, Carbon Grey.
2010 Mk6 GTI Manual, Carbon Grey.
2009 Mk6 GTI DSG, Black Pearl.
2008 Mk5 GT sport DSG, Glacier White.
2003 Mk4 R32, Reflex Silver.
2002 Mk4 GTI, Indigo blue pearl.
1991 AX GT.
1984 Mk1 XR2.
Plus many more.

Yes I couldn’t find something like this that was for DSG, I looked at the alloy plates that stick onto the existing dead pedal, but didn’t like that idea or the look of them. This is the best option in my opinion that looks better than the plastic pedal. To the untrained eyes, this looks factory, we of course know different, all good if this doesn’t bother you. If a decent DSG one pops up, I might change as it’s a 5min job, post one up here if you find one, I’ll do the same
