Hi, can anyone confirm if Mk7 taylored floor mats also fit the Mk8.5 perfectly.
I think I read somewhere that they are exactly the same shape but want to be sure before buying some.

Thanks for confirming. I sometimes come across GTI logo mats for the MK7 but have a 8.5 on order but didn’t want to buy unless they fitted 👍

Be aware that the ‘GTI’ logo on mk7 mats is a different font style to the GTI badging on a mk8 and mk8.5 Golf GTI, so the logo on the mats won’t match all the other GTI badging on the car. Might not be important to you, but it would be to some owners.

Another option would be a set of OEM Edition45 mats... they're pretty much the same as the standard mats, with the addition of a little "GTI" rubber tab on the sides (with the correct GTI font of course!). See attached photo. I can try digging out a part number if you want.

Good point. I may buy from Autostyle Mats as I’ve used them several times over the past 20 years. They seem to hold all the correct logo fonts and embroide them
