Do apologise if this has been answered already but could do with some advice regarding my cracked sunroof trim. Mk 7.5, sunroof trim has cracked for the third time! First 2 times it was under the original warranty. First time VW replaced the trim, second time I was led to believe they changed the sunroof cassette. I’ve now noticed it’s cracked again (in the same place as the two previous cracks). It’s now outside of the original warranty but I have the All Components Cover that comes with my service plan. I know this does not cover sunroofs however, just wondered if anybody had managed to get VW to replace the trim in this sort of situation and if so how you went about it

Thanks for everyone’s replies.

I shied away from buying one, until this weekend when I had a go installing a Nextbase in a Focus, so has given me the confidence along with your replies and UTube recordings.

I now fell “… I can do this …” and my next thought is which side to route the 2nd channel cable down, the left (passenger) or right (driver).

Have seen some route down the passenger side, same side as the power cable, while another suggested the right for the 2nd channel…

As it’s a Blackvue routing down the driver side might make wire management at the front a little tidier..

Newer kits now come with the hard wire accessory, so ready to go..!

Cheers!
