Rear disc's corrosion

As topic. Can't believe how much these have corroded in such a short time.

I can get a bit anal with this sort of thing. So bought new and painted and laqoured them.
Anybody else noticed this with your Gti?.

Nope, no joking there by the looks of it Willy, it’s gone from rust and lips to smooth and smooth.

The amount of rust on your rear rotors looks like acidic cleaners having been used as it’s quite bad. My car is one of the very first registered and although there’s a bit of rust there’s nowhere near that amount and all mine have had is regular washing with fairly decent shampoos. Nothing elaborate as the car is a workhorse albeit a well looked after one.

Regular use helps keep the rust down. Another thing to be aware of is to never park up a washed car. Always take it for a short drive to dry out the disks. Bilt Hamber do a product that you spray on after washing that prevents rust. I have some here I've been testing and so far getting mixed results. It does work but you still get some corrosion.

A wire brush will take rusted hubs back to bare metal, for paint instead of replacing them.

@Tractor Dave, if you spray it on before, during and after washing it works a lot better.

Have to agree with you all..... A bit more than a little extreme lol. But I tend to be anal about my cars. Every time I washed it.. That's all I could see... OCD? We're all different I suppose.
Just picked up the car today after having Ppf and ceramic coating applied.
This guy is on another level. What's your thoughts?

The detailer used Gtechniq Crystal Serum, topped with EXOv5. As i said it rained all the home, drove on country roads, motorway, and duels. Put the car straight in the garage, looked at it 3days later and was amazed to see i had no dirt or water marks anywhere on it. If anyone is looking for PPf,ceramic coating around the S West, you wont find any better i dont think than this guy.

You mentioned mods......I,m so tempted,but dont want to mess up the good old warranty!
