Evening All - first time Golf owner -Mk7 GTi
« on: 21 May 2022, 19:10 »

Evening All,

New member here having owned this mk7 DSG for just under a week. Bought the car to replace my Macan Diesel which was getting in a bit and the price of diesel had made a little to silly to run.

Brief was something fun and easy and the golf fitted the bill. I really like it so far and in some ways it reminds my 205 GTi in the way it turns in and can be rotated slightly on lift off.

Like a good forum for resource and help with the odd mod or maintainance. I am however looking for a good specialist in Kent near West Malling as this is my first VW and I'd like someone I can trust.

Looking forward to getting involved more.

The golf will be heading to the dolomites in August and if my Nurburgring or Spa trackdays look wet I may use it as well as I'm sure it'll be more suited than my other car! Can't wait to get to know it!

Other car for reference - quite different to the golf...

Welcome to the forum @Joehow88. Hope you enjoy your GTI.

I could see your ‘other car’ hiding in your garage behind the wheelie bins before I got to the second picture . A nice car to have when you want some car fun!

Yeah it's great but I'd say the golf is quicker down a good British B road. The GT3 has way too many cup car parts so is a bit compromised shall we say on anything but smooth roads and race tracks

Thanks guys! Really enjoying it.

Had to replace the coolant bottle this week as the sensor had gone but otherwise it seems a good un. Gonna get some paint bits sorted next
