RaceChip XLR
« on: 04 October 2020, 12:23 »
Hi,

Still wondering about getting a pedal box but a bit put off by some saying the connectors are fiddly or easy to break on the DTUK ones. Anyone tried the RaceChip XLR as an alternative?

My PedalBox is 2013 vintage which is one of the early ones that had the nightmare grey connectors.
What happens is the connector itself has a vice like grip which is a good thing as it sure as hell won’t pop off on the move, but the little release toggle couldn’t handle the spring and failed.

Later DTUK boxes had a revised clip which was supposedly far more robust.

Once my clip failed the connector could still be easily and quickly removed by inserting a small flat blade screwdriver into the connector sleeve from the bottom which releases the clip and the two halves slide apart.

If you want to try mine FOC to see how you get on with one drop me a line Michele

Wow Andy. Now that’s a offer! Unbelievably kind that. I’ll PM you.

My DTUK box has been absolutely fine and I moved it from one car to the latest one. It's about 3 years old so I can't see why a new one would be any bother at all.
