Or do you have to remap the gearbox?

That's one of my biggest gripes with the car. I'm in 3rd for a reason, and it's not because I want to lug along

Isn't there somewhere in the menus to get rid of eco tips altogether? Can't be 100% sure as I know longer have a MK7 but sure there was and I unpicked tgat box. You certainly can in the wife's Polo GTI and my A4.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I think my Leon isn't showing these.... it's got a VC though.

Anyway, can't you just choose to ignore the eco tip :D

You can change the eco tips, but I think the gear suggestion is the only one you can't turn off. Maybe I'll give it another look

Manual car but this has started getting on my nerves too, and I swear I found an option to turn it off previously.

Can I find it now? Nope.

Just checked, even my VC shows it.
Don't usually see it when I'm gunning around in manual mode, as I'll either be full on or idle most of that time.  And with my eyes on the road and the rev counter.

I suspect its an eu requirement... To reduce emissions.
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

Yes definitely a legal requirement from the eu and thus a UK law too

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/eur/2012/65/2012-01-24

So not going to be easy to disable and probably a mot fail if its not there

What a load of bollocks. It's a legal requirement that cars tell people how to drive, in the name of the environment, even though it's entirely up to the driver whether they follow it..... Am I breaking the law by not changing when it tells me to? Whatever next
