VW GTD MK7 - New to Diesel
« on: 18 July 2020, 13:17 »
Hello All...

Finally decided to join as I have taken a lot of info from here so thanks all. Now my time to input where I can...

Always had petrol cars and my last car was the MK5 1.6 FSI (sensible car-lot of fun and mods-winter pack)
Was going to get the R but... 25 miles daily minimum for work I thought it's time to go to the "fuel of satan" - Clarkson reference

VW GTD was the only option for me and in December '19 took the plunge and never looked back. Pulls like a train and so refined on the inside. Won't go on and on but specs and mods listed below: (not a lot - like to keep as OEM as possible)

VW GTD MK7 - Sport and Sound Pack
- White with Pan roof and red calipers
- Racing line paddle shifters (Ebay version lol)
- Semi Dynamic Rear Indicators
- LED boot light

To do list:

- Coding:
Play around with the lights. Make DRL 100% if not already or to stay 100% but put fogs on for DRL's
Third brake light flash on lock and unlock
Reverse light intensity
Auto Rain Window and sunroof close - Especially after a close call the other day

Exterior and interior full detail and possible PPF

I can't remember what else I have done or want to do but look forward to sharing and receiving info...

OH... my mpg was not good when I first bought it. It was used and 66k on the clock.
(Got it and did a DSG service straight away)
Was getting mid 30's local and 45's on long run.
Used Millers Power Ecomax additive and I am now getting over 40's local and mid 50's on an 8 mile motorway run. I can get into the whole "which fuel?" debate somewhere else lol

:) Bodz

(Can't put pics in for some reason)
