As stated plenty of times in this thread, all GTI’s come with front door and front sill illumination with the exception of the Clubsport (unless the latter was specced with leather).
As per handy andy’s post, I was going to suggest a wanted advert on here as there’s a good amount of enthusiast cared for cars that some owners might be looking to change themselves.
And handy andy, a welcome to you too! How come you’ve owned so many Golfs and have yet to register on here before?! You must have an incredible amount of knowledge and experience you could share.
Aside from that Twinklestar, where have you and your son looked aside from Autotrader?
A wanted ad on here could throw up suggestions but keeping an active thread might also lead people who spot a GTI for sale on their travels to report what they’ve seen which might give you leads.
There’s the obvious VWUK used cars selection online as per a previous post, there’s eBay of course and assuming you or your son have accounts then Facebook is also a source of finding cars for sale with all sorts of ‘groups’. At least with the latter if it’s a private sale you can dig a little to see whether the vendor is a bit of an idiot or not!! But garages also advertise on Facebook. I don’t use that medium for car hunting as I hate FB personally but am often sent links from a friend who spends hours trawling Facebook for cars he can’t afford.
Pistonheads.com/classifieds used to be a popular place to advertise performance cars so could be worth a look.
