Amazon Music with Android Auto / Google Assistant voice control

Hi all

I've just bought a 2018 GTI PP (which is great) and am getting to grips with the infotainment.

We have an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription and want to use the steering wheel voice control to choose songs via Android Auto, however although the Google assistant says 'no problem buddeh I'll get right on that' or similar, it returns a random different song.

From a brief Google it appears that Google just doesn't want Amazon Music working through its assistant and I probably need to swap to Google Play Music if I want this to work.

Is that about the top and bottom of it?

Spent far too long Googling this last night and it appears my only option  is to convert to Google play music, if I want steering wheel voice control of a streaming service.

Which app are you using to play the music? (I don't have Amazon music)

The problem is almost certainly to do with the integration (or lack thereof) of the app with Android Auto.

Most Android Auto enabled apps are pretty badly done, its a mere afterthought for most. Frustratingly many have issues that should have been ironed out in the first few iterations but remain there seemingly forever - and its not Google's fault.

Same as above. I use Spotify through Google assistant without issus and Spotify is a much better experience the Google music.

Thanks all. We've just started a trial of Google Play music as you get 3 months as a Samsung customer it seems.

Might also check out Spotify, but one thing's for sure - this means Amazon Music is a no go for us now.
