OIL LEAKING FROM PLUGS

On the weekend I popped the bonnet of my golf just to give the engine bay a clean out,, to my horror I found oil leaking from plug 1 and plug 4 i cleaned up the leads and the plugs and placed them back in and now am finding the when driving over say 60 MPH the cars starts to miss allot like its wants to move faster but wont this continues until i come back to below 60 mph ,, please can some advise as to why this is happening.. :cry:

common to leak from the rocker cover on 16v's

sorry mine is a 8v and i have the leak from teh plugs not the cover

Do what i did and get the engine all cleaned up so you can be 100% from where its coming from.  I thought mine was the plugs as this was where the oil was collecting. Once i followed these guys advice and cleaned it up you could actually see it was working its way down from the rocker cover gasket.  Worth a try anyhow  :smiley:

i dont see how oil could leak from the plugs, it would be more likely be petrol from the plugs not oil. has to be the rocker cover gasket if its plug 1 and 4.
