MIB2 suddenly dead
« on: 08 August 2021, 10:05 »
Hi all

Usually post in the Mk2 section, but my wifes Mk7.5 MIB2 has just died. Main Stealer said it is a 5F control module error and have stated £2.4k for replacement.

I have just taken out the 3Q0035874B infotainment and it powers fine, but nothing in the car, no bluetooth for Nav etc.

I have noted some second hand units for around £400, just wondering if anyone knew of a repair service as it seems more and more are failing, although it is not he Delphi units its the German one.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

You can’t just replace, it’s all down to component protection, then you have to add all the FEC too, some you are able to patch out tho 😉

Thanks all

I have spoken to Ryan at NorthEastVAGAdaptions, a new coded one will be arriving which will plug and play.

All that for a sixth the price VW wanted. Fingers crossed.

Glad you got sorted-how old is the car?
Would that not be a warranty issue?-that’s potentially a very expensive bill,at what-4 years tops.
Might be worth contacting VW direct.

Alpine offer a great replacement for around £1k plus fitting.
