I coded it out straight away.
If you could disclose the coding pathways via VCDS or OBD11, i'd be most grateful!
Stop start on DSG is a real hinderence ime. Best coded out completely.
Obdeleven coding - Disable stop/start
Select Control unit 19
Adaptation
Stop start limit voltage
Set Value to 12
(default is 7.6)
That’s the one!
Booth/Wantmygti, thanks!
Ah, I thought from your post that you meant you coded out the restarting of the engine when the car in front shuffles ahead. The only time that trigger could ever come in useful is for someone daydreaming while waiting for the lights to change (as long as you are not the lead car) and save you getting tooted at. If it came to killing off stop-start altogether, i'd probably just press the button at the start of every journey.
What I do at the moment is knock stop-start off when i'm driving around stretches with roundabouts, and put it back on if i've just missed the lights at a junction and will be in for a long wait.
I know the mpg impact isn't huge, but mpg of the Polo GTI+ is a little lower than expectations. My commute is 13 miles now, from 20, due to a new job - so 35mpg Summer expectations on the R would probably be 30mpg expectations on the shorter commute (missus has the R Mon to Fri for her even shorter commute). Until I hit the 620 mile/1000km threshold for opening up, I was getting 40mpg ave in the Polo. Now it's 35mpg with a slightly heavier right foot and very slightly heavier traffic now kids are back at school. Went Newcastle to York and back 2 weekends ago, maintained 80mph most of the way and averaged 43mpg.
