So no else said the same thing about your impatient approach. Some times are quieter than others but that's obviously lost on you. Some threads reach quite a high read count before someone replies but that's just how it goes. You certainly haven't left a good impression as a new member and your attitude leaves a lot to be desired but sometimes that's just how people are.

Yeah about as pleasant as a Scottish BMW driver. As said no one likes a smart arse and you obviously think your smart but in fact you're just the arse!! And just because someone lives in a particular part of the country doesn't mean they were born in that place.

Agree, oh and by the way I'm not Scottish, I'm South African ya tard  Seems like you are a Scott and BMW hater, congrats on bashing a new forum member, you must be the forum fool.

Not Scottish either you complete tool! BMW hater is a bit strong but in general it's usually complete w4nkers who drive them. And if I remember rightly your third or fourth post was slagging the forum off for not replying to you instantly. You sound like a total 🔔end

Sigh... there is no helping some people, I said it sounds like that you are a Scott and BMW hater, not that you are Scottish, apparently that was completely lost on you- Not surprised really  I give reading lessons on a Thursday, please be sure to attend.

As I can clearly remember I said "No Replies?" at that point my thread was read 121 Times, so logic (if you have any) goes to show that a fair few people read my post but without reply.  Next- I asked a question- "No Replies?" that's not slagging a forum off IMO, but oh noooooo Mr No Common sense went straight on the defensive and into attack mode.

There is only one bell end here Sir, and that would be you.

Good Day to you.....

Stick your handbags away you two

Not a Soul except you !

So has anyone fitted an aftermarket exhaust to a GTD? I know it's almost pointless with a Diesel but there are some decent systems out there.

I'm pretty sure they're out there - I do know that someone has previously put a standard GTI exhaust on a GTD, although I'm unsure how much custom fabrication there was involved with it.

Also, I sold my standard exhaust to someone with a GTD so he could take it to his exhaust maker to replicate for a GTD.

Finally, although I'm not 100%, I think the diffuser from a GTD fits a GTI, if that's the route you'd prefer to take.

Cheers Gnasher,  I'm currently looking at catback systems from both Miltek and Cobra and from what I've seen and heard on Youtube they do make the GTD sound a hell of a lot better. Both are very reasonably priced at around £600, worth it IMO.

I would need to put a GTI diffuser on the GTD though unless I went with a side by side set up as per the standard layout.

Dare I ask why you went GTD over a GTI?

Coming from a background of some pretty fast machinery by the looks of things you'll find the GTD slow revving.
I'd scrub the idea of an exhaust upgrade personally as the newer GTD's have bigger tailpipes than the outgoing pre facelift cars so they look ok as standard. A 4 cyl VW Diesel ain't ever going to sound sexy!

I ran a GTD for a short while and found it a decent enough car but it really needed a DTUK tuning box to wake it up a bit and then there's the essential addition of a Pedalbox which at least wakes the engine up a bit in normal driving.

The wheels you chose will fill the arches ok without spacers giving the car a much better look.

Cheers Exonian, Yes I've had some very fast cars in that past, various M3's and so on, the GTD has been bought with my car allowance and we are only allowed to have certain cars which are covered by our company insurance and also because of the damage from the accident.

But Ohhhhhhh it doesn't stop here, I only plan on keeping it for 3 Years and the next will be an Audi RS3, so I have plans. The RS won't be covered by company insurance either but for that I don't care

I'd check if the company's insurance allows any modification at all.... I suspect it won't.

I don't think I've ever encountered a company who will insure staff vehicles that aren't owned or leased by the company themselves? Mine certainly won't. When I took the cash instead of a company lease scheme vehicle, I'm on my own.

Minor Mods are fine, but anything to do with Tuning or the likes is a no no. Depends on you work for eh  Oil and Gas Companies such as the one I work for are fine.
