I'm not saying I'm psychic but I predict Rebecca will be along shortly

There is a detailing section on here by the way. http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?board=56.0

 Otherwise engaged it seems, seance? My 2 penneth 'Obsessive Detail Clarity windows' love it, work a treat on black gloss items also.

No seance, something much more important than that.

My top three glass cleaners in order of pref:

1.  Obsessive Detail Clarity Streak Free Glass Cleaner.  Lives up to its streak free name, an absolute breeze on and off.  http://www.obsessivedetail.co.uk/clarity-windows-300ml.

Yep, CHB gets all his best recommendations from me, glass cleaner, pedal boxes.....  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

2.  Gtechniq G6 Perfect Glass.  Not quite OD quality but close runner up.  http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-and-exterior/glass-cleaners-sealants/gtechniq-g6-perfect-glass/prod_1295.html

3.  Autoglym Fast Glass - excellent!  http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=747

As Simon says  (dubber36), if you’re getting streaking, youre. using too much product. And a good glass cloth makes a hell of a difference.  You will not find better than these:

WoWo Glass Cloth.  Much better than waffle weave glass cloths, better ribbed grain gives better ‘bite’.  https://wo-wo.co.uk/collections/wo-wo-car-detailing-products/products/3pc-microfibre-glass-cloth-set 20%forum discount too with code GTIFORUM20.

rather than start a new thread, (as it's glass related), has anyone clayed their glass (on the outside). My rear wiper even though it's relatively new blade judders on first activation, but doens't on the return sweep and i've noticed that the glass isn't left spotless when the blade wipes, but rather there's a random pattern that appears (though only visible when the wiper sweeps and before the glass dries out. I'm wondering if at some time I've got polish or something on the glass and if it can be removed by claying ? I've tried IPA on a clean cloth but that made no difference ?

Yes, I’ve clayed front windscreens mainly to get rid of rubbish sealants that cause wiper judder. Just clay it as you would the paintwork. And, as said, clean your wiper blades (every wash), often they get overlooked but crap sticks to them affecting their wiping impact.

My rear wiper was juddering so I bought a new Bosch aero blade one and that did the trick.

I’d just like to add my 2p in here.

I buy IPA and mix it 1:1 with deionised water, it works a treat for me and it works out around £10 for 10 litres. If it’s a particularly greasy pane of glass then I mop up with some blue roll as it’s more absorbant than a cloth and slightly more abrasive. There’s no issue of over using product as it will flash dry rather quickly and, due to the DI, it won’t leave water spots.

However, I appreciated the links above for an easier time as the majority of people would take a lifetime to get through 10L of glass cleaner.

On a separate but related matter, I have about 4L of Autobrite Direct Crystal Glass Cleaner sitting in my garage that is free to a good home if you can pickup or meet anywhere around Stoke-on-Trent.
