Mind you, if you are down under, you probably won't have the same problems we do in the UK...
The problem with the BS is that they are too hard at lower temps (under 10 Celsius) but I doubt if you ever see anything like that.
The extra hardness probably is good for you - stop the snakes and spiders making holes in them :-P
Thanks for the responses. Sounds like I'll be swapping out the tyres straight after delivery - most likely for Michelin PS4.
I'm in Hobart, Australia's southern-most and coldest capital city. I've had numerous Bridgestones on previous cars and am not a fan of them - especially in the cold and wet.
The way I look at it is that I'm stuck with them for a long time, so I'd rather pay up front to swap them out and enjoy the car from week one.
Edit: Out of curiosity, which Potenzas are the GTI's delivered with? S001, RE050 or RE003?
