Hi all, long shot this as I don't think that many people have the advanced phone package APP), but here goes.
I was at the weekend looking for an easy way to access the 12V socket and it's power connector from the underside of the centre console rather than having to take it out (for another project). I remembered reading that for those centre consoles that have the APP, that rather than the storage box under the armrest being a sealed box, on APP, the electronics pack of the APP forms the front panel of the storage box, and with it removed, you should be able to access the underside back of the console (which you can by the way).
However, when removing the APP module, i noticed that the "amplifier" module that sits on the backside of the false panel, is loose and wasn't actually hard up against it's backing panel, and just seemed to be more or less held in place via the elasticated strap that runs around the backing plate. I've commented for some time that I couldn't really see any difference in phone reception with the phone in or out of the phone box. I'm now wondering if this is because with the amplifier not being held hard up against the front panel, the gap between it and the phone is too big for it to achieve the coupling. There does appear to be some slots that the amplifier slots into on the backside, but nothing holds it in position and it just seems to slide out and away from the backing plate ?
Anyone else noticed this ?
