Looks great, had lunch in the Dirty Duck in Stratford a few weeks ago and when we came out there was and identical car parked behind me. When you see both together atlantic is much lighter than the night blue on mine.

That blue looks fantastic in the sun!

I've never seen it look so good actually.

Glad you got it sorted and pleased to see someone who actually drives their car and not just polishes it and writes about it on a forum ;-)

Cheers Fred - yes, I love driving the car (which is why I bought it) - it's my 5th GTI and the best yet. The 7 speed DSG equals 2,100 RPM at 80MPH so economy is great. I'm glad I went for the checked cloth rather than the leather (all my previous 4 GTI's have been leather) which I thought was a needlessly expensive option. I also think the heated seats heat up quicker with cloth than leather. My favourite feature is the satnav maps in the dashboard LCD display. Great for keeping your eyes on the road.
I've not seen another Atlantic Blue yet - in fact, my dealer said it's the only one they've sold so far.

I think it's about 3000rpm at 80 on the Clubsport (not sure if that's different to the regular Mk7?) which isn't great for economy or relaxation on a long commute!

For economy, don't you want to design the gear ratios so that in 6th/7th and at whatever motorway speed you perceive as top legal speed, its running just below the point at which the turbo kicks in?
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

You might, but you also need to design gear ratios so it has enough juice to get to a decent top speed.
And as we are talking German engineered cars... well there is mostly no limit.
