A favour to ask of fellow GTI owners
« on: 06 November 2017, 16:56 »
Hi all, I recently noticed my turbo inlet elbow has a fair amount of lateral movement at the joint with the turbo. The bracket screw seems tight so this could well be normal. So, could a few helpful fellow forumites check their's please? Cold of course, we don't want any scalding leading to me getting a scolding

I will take it to the dealers but not if it is unnecessary, I suspect that unless they have one as a comparison then I'm unlikely to get very far... It's not falling off or anything, just has a surprising amount of movement which concerns me as to how well it is sealed.

Cheers!

Just checked mine and it has approx. 2mm wobble.

So either both of ours are faulty or this in the norm.

Cheers Matt, very helpful. That's exactly what I've got so good news. Perhaps it allows for expansion.
