In my view it boils down to two things only:
1. Is it actually the car you ordered (new cars only) - ie are all the standard features and selected options present.
2. Is it damaged in any way (and that includes paint swirls, alloys, upholstery, bodywork etc) because its very hard to lay damage at the dealers door once you have driven away.
OK - there is one more thing on new cars - have they removed the transport suspension pucks!
