I m pretty sure i want the border shes going into solartech to get darker rear tints and gloss black vinyl on the roof and top and possibly the line on the grill in black depends what colour the line is inside the lights so thinking the black border will be 👌

I'd be really interested to see some pics of your car after you've had the vinyl roof done. I had this on my old Type R and it looked great. Planning on getting it done next summer on the R.

forgive my ignorance but whats that ???????

It's an example of the friendly and whitty banter that you'll find in equal and large measures on this forum Jeni

I think it's your plan to wrap your roof in gloss black vinyl that prompted the comment as there was a black roof option on the Golf GTI Clubsport, so a GTD with its roof wrapped in black = a diesel Clubsport!

Bingo.

And it sounds like you have enough vodka on tap!

anyone in a white GTI/GTD - about to order plates and not sure whether to get border or no border

On the black one looks nice with the border but cant decide as havent seen a white one with a border or non border pressed plate  :undecided:

Examples of both in this very thread.  Second one is an R but gives you the idea.

Not sure if you have bought some plates this afternoon Jeni_R, but I took a couple of shots of the front of my car when I got home. Please excuse the flies - they seem to be attracted to my bumper!

I chose the ones with a border from Europl8 (excellent service and quality plates) and attached them using the 3M tape as suggested by Booth11 above (great advice).

I thought they might help you make your mind up (and I won't be offended if you still go with the borderless ones!)

No worries at all, I'm sure they will look great.

Yes it's my first GTI and I can't imagine driving anything else now... so much fun! Enjoy your first week Jeni.
