Golf Mk 7.5 fog lights
« on: 10 May 2017, 14:28 »
Can someone please explain to me the situation with the Golf GTI fog lights? I'm a newbie but ordered a GTI yesterday that apparently will take 11 weeks+ to be built. Will it have fog lights or?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, all UK spec GTI's/GTD's should now be built with fog lights.
2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

Pretty much all early UK examples of facelifted GTi's and GTD's have been delivered without fogs fitted even though VWUK's literature states they should be standard fit.

However this now seems to have been rectified for all later builds and you should be OK as long as you're not getting a car from stock.

If you're in any way concerned then a conversation with your dealer is advisable, they should be aware of the situation.

If your car is confirmed as not having fogs fitted then VW are offering £245 reimbursement and £250 goodwill payment, or the opportunity to re-order and wait for a new build.

There is another thread on here where all this has been discussed at considerable length.
