Just pulled the trigger on a factory order as follows

5 door GTI Performance
DSG
Atlantic Blue
Keyless
DCC
19" Brescia
Dynaudio

Dealer has quoted 4 months but says it'll probably be better than that.

Questions for the cognoscenti on here..........

1. Decent options?
2. Has anyone got photos of 5 door P in Atlantic Blue? Haven't seen a car in that colour yet but screen image looks amazing
3. Views on 4 month lead time? (that would take me into January I guess? Factory Christmas shutdown delays?)
4. What's the view on the My Volkswagen app to track order? Is that the best way to do it?
5. Views on the new LCD display?
6. Do the UK 7.5's have front foglights or not? There seems to be confusion.

My current car is Mk 7 GTI PP with Santiagos but I thought the Brescias looked like a nice change (and cheaper) and I thought leather was a lot of money so just stuck with the Jacara tartan.

This will be my 5th GTI but the first with DCC. Am I in for a treat?

Re: Fogs, as far I have read, it was only some early cars that were wrongly built for UK market without Fog lights, your car will have them, as this has been rectified now.

I rather like the Sevilla wheels, certainly a good cheap stylish option but maybe the red would be too much with a blue car...

Also the Art Velours interior... nice but maybe not on a blue car.

Then again, you've already got red GTI accents, so why not carry on

I like the NavPro, but its expensive and if you aren't using Nav a lot, its probably not for you.

Normal... 4 to 6 is about what to expect.

I've specified Dynaudio, heated windscreen and rear camera.   DCC and keyless didn't offer vfm for me, but we all value different things.

The My VW App and Live Chat are equally crap, based on my (open) order experience.   I doubt it'll be quite as bad as 4 months now we're passed summer shutdown.

Personally I'd trim the DCC and Keyless and have DSG instead.

DSG GTI's really are the shizzle.

Next time, assuming petrol hasn't been declared the anti-christ, I'm going for that!

Spec is very similar to mine, except I went for Issac Blue, DSG and also keyless.
Having recently seen an Atlantic Blue GTD in the flesh I thought it was a lovely colour and half wished I'd taken that option.

Ordered 09.05.17 and it arrived at the dealership 11.07.17, but think it was pre-order by the dealership but I configured it to my spec. Pick it up on Friday!!

The order tracker was ok and changed status at regular intervals, but it still says the car is 'nearly there'!

Yes - it is DSG (I forgot to mention as I've had DSG for the past 3 years and just assumed it was standard)

Re: DSG being standard, no it's never been standard, you pay £1170 more for the pleasure of DSG, I think it's worth it.
