Hi, At the weekend I thought I would complete a few urgent jobs on the golf 1.8T.
Firstly the B1 S1 pre Lambda Sensor was throwing up 3 codes, so I pulled the old one out to find it was a pattern part, not an original.

Left, the pattern part. Right, A Bosch oem sensor

Couldn't get the car in the unit, so got it jacked up instead
Then had to replace the melting battery fuse tray and the Positive Alternator wire.

So found a very good 2nd hand replacement on eBay for a few quid

So made a heavy duty Positive wire to replace the existing corroding one. It was causing heat & resistance.

Replacement fuse tray and beefed up wire in place.

So after a few hours down the lock-up, some nice dry mild weather, a few tools a job well done i'd say.
Oh and the fake Lambda sensor can go in the bin!
