I am on my 3rd rear and 3rd set of front blades, original, then Bosch and now Valeo. it doesn't seem to make much difference, even though I don't use the rear unless its very wet (so i don't scratch the dirt across a dry-ish window). They seem to get brittle and then no longer sweep effectively, but judder a little on the back sweep (i think)
Things to make it better i have found, but not perfect.
I have removed all traces of glass treatment with Bar keepers friend.
removed all traces of limescale water spots from the glass with distilled vinegar on a cotton pad
I use only d-ionised water in the washer system to avoid limescale build up on windows and paint. (really hard water area in East Anglia I think)
I use now, after trying many, Autoglym screenwash as i assume it will be wax safe compared to the very cheapest screenwash on the market or the very strongest.
I use a home made glass cleaner - 10% IPA 30% distilled vinegar 60% d-ionised water. (from detailingworld forum suggestions). Its very effective, is a safe glass cleaner and dirt cheap, simple mix in a spray bottle and you are done.
What i would say is that if you do find Alchemy during your time of ownership, patent it our at least come back and tell us
