Hi Everyone,
I just purchased today a 2006 Golf SDI 2.0 and I hope to bring it to a top notch condition in the next few weeks.
The one thing that brought me here is that I love forums and learned and share so much on them.
I mostly come from been a Subaru owner in America. Although I also used to owned 2 Audis 100 (C4) which I loved dearly except when I stop at the pump. That was in America where they only came as 2.8 V6s throwing an unappealing 17-19 mpg.
I drove my new SDI back home from Portsmouth to London today and although I read many posts of people complaining about the lack of Power on the SDI I am quite happy with it. Coasts at 70-80 at the motorway which is plenty for me.
I know I will have to replace the clutch release bearing and I am hopefully after reading some posts of some of you claiming that it can be done without dropping the gearbox.
I will get there once I have a bit ore time to take care of it. For now is just annoying coming from a full stop but after that is fine.
Cheers!
Lleiro
