MK2 KJET fuel distributor help
« on: 31 December 2015, 18:44 »
Hi,

Just registered on the forum as im looking for some help & advice sorting out my MK2 1.8 8v Golf GTI engine issues.

Over the past couple of weeks i have stripped, inspected & rebuilt my KJET fuel distributor. I have also changed all my injector hoses and replaced both top and bottom seals on all injectors.

Tonight I tried to see if the engine would start. The fuel pump started and fuel leaked out of the distributor (the joint between the two halves). There was also strange whistling noise and my caddy wouldnt start.

Anyway... im new to fuel injection and just need some pointers...

1) Firstly i need to split the distributor and repair the leak. Is sealant needed? I read online about varnish?

2) If i rebuild the distributor and connect the fuel feed and return, with no pressure on the plunger i should have no fuel coming out of the distributor? When i press the plunger in i should get an equal amount of fuel to all 4 injectors?

3) The 5th cold start injector should be constantly primed with fuel as this is controlled by the CSV?

Thanks.
