Engine mount issues
« on: 28 November 2015, 15:20 »
Hello. I took my car to my local mechanic and the t**t keeps making excuses to not work on my car. Today he stated that my bolts for the mounts are too rusty and stated that he didn't even attempt to open them and didn't want to take responsibility if they did brake. So I'm in need of a good mechanic in the west London area who knows their VW's. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated

do the work yourself...the two mounts are easy to change and one can be tricky...

so the front mount and the one above the gearbox are easy and you can do it yourself...the other mount may be hard if it is rusted on bent bolt etc....

if you have a jack you can do it yourself...of course there is the risk you will damage someting...but hey you will learn about your car...

as long as you support the engine properly you will be ok....:)
