paypal dispute
« on: 02 June 2015, 19:17 »
hi!
so i brought some alloys though paypal 2 months ago. only just got tyres fitted to them but turns out two of them are badly buckled. ive opened a dispute to get a refund of how much my local alloy refurb shop charges for two wheel. which is quite alot.
how likley am i to see this money? the wheels cost a fair bit and i dont have the cash to get two of them fixed on top of buying adapters ect.

That's a difficult one. I opened a dispute a few weeks ago with PayPal against s company i had ordered goods from and had not received. I got a notification saying that they had found in my favour. Your situation is slightly different in that you have received a service albeit a very poor one which has damaged your wheels. It's how you prove that the wheels weren't buckled before you had the tyres replaced.

You'll likely get awarded a refund, but only if you send the wheels back to the seller first and that proof is provided. I can't see you being offerered anything to do with getting them repaired unless you come to an arrangement with the seller.

I had someone recently buy a cast iron fireplace off me. I offered no postage option and they used their own independent courier. They then opened a paypal dispute saying it never fitted together correctly (it did) and even without showing any pictures I was prompted to refund them. However the item firstly needed to be returned by a reputable, insured and tracked courier and proof of return shown which obviously never happened due the cost. I never heard of them again and the dispute was closed.

I try to go and look before I buy second hand goods of any value....
if the residence is uber pikey or the goods a bit short I walk away.
