Aum dump valve ??
« on: 07 May 2015, 04:22 »
Hey guys just looking for a little advice. I have a mk4 golf 1.8t it's an 03plate aum engine code. I want to put a dump valve on it do I can have the whoosh sound but I know these kind of DVs give the aum engine problems. I heard that it's possible to run 2 DVs at the same time ?? Could I keep the stock DV on the car and also have an atmospheric DV located somewhere else? Any help on this would be really appreciated.

Get a forge 007p or forge 008, it's a recirculation valve that will give you the whoosh noise you're after and it'll keep the car happy too.

I've had a look at those ones aswell but they don't sound very good. Do you know if it is possible to run two DVs ? And would it run ok or not ? Thanks.

Get 1 decent recirc dv as said and spend out on induction instead, to give some improved dump noise. To really noise it up get a remap to up the pressure/dump.
Atmos valves not recommend.

Ok thanks for the help guys. What about splitter valves ? If I run it 50/50 will this still give me engine problems ? I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on this

Same rules apply

The engine was DESIGNED with a recirculating valve.  If you've done your reading and found 'mixed reviews' that should tell you all you need to know

If you buy anything other than a recirculating valve,  don't come moaning on here that your engine isn't running properly
