Laserline immobiliser + teardrop alloys
« on: 18 September 2005, 20:21 »
Hey, i was wondering if anyone could help me with a few questions i have about my new mk2 8v.

Firstly i have a laserline immobiliser fitted but have no certificate and need one for my insurance, i have rung around a few places but no one deals with laserline anymore.

Second is the teardrop alloys which are showing there age. A guy i know seems to think they were powder coated, another just lacquer. Im hoping on the latter as correct me if im wrong but this could be removed with nitromores.

I have a laserline CAT1 alarm/immobiliser and I just went to a car performance type place that does alarms, alloys etc and asked them to give it a check over to make sure it worked as it should, it cost me £15 for the certificate and they didn't do much really but the insurance where happy with it.

Dont know the answer to your alloys question.

Yep if it's just laquer then nitromors will do the job, if it's powder coating then I think they will require an acid dip. Just try some nitromors on an inconspicuous area and you'll soon find out.

You got any pics of your dad's split ?
