Golf 7R, DCC and VWR lowering springs?
« on: 10 April 2015, 20:50 »
Hello, I'm looking for some feedback and advice, I currently have a Gti 7, PP, DCC, and whilst I'm enjoying the car I'm already looking towards its replacement next summer! There are 1 or 2 cars on the radar, one of which is the Golf R, and I'm wanting to lower it using VWR springs and I'm not sure if it's worth having DCC on the car as well? I know it's slightly of subject as it's not a Gti but having seen various R related subjects here, I thought I'd ask for your input. Thanks all.

I had H&R springs on my 7R first which were DCC compatible but woeful, reunited the car, I've got VWRs on and some have grumbled, I have not had a chance to drive back to back with my wife's R which is stock (all be it embargo soon to be lifted)

As with any lowered car you can suffer with a loss or articulation on the side to side, i have my car set up with the individual driver mode pretty much set to race with suspension set to comfort given the poor quality of our roads

Thanks for the feedback wigit, I will be keen to know what you think as a back to back once the 'embargo' is lifted! I partly want to lower the car to give it a different look/stance and also to improve the handling and your comment regarding side to side characteristics is something I'm mindful of. You are the handling 'Guinea pig'! Cheers
