Hi everyone, just bought a '95 GTI (3dr), seems it had been garaged for a few years.Its got evidence of mice or ut eaters all over, nut casings in all the catchment areas in the engine bay...hope the wiring is ok.
Body is in excellent shape, it has a few minor(i hope) mechanical issues.
The main worry is its cutting out when hot. Starts cold perfectly. Once warm, its impossible to get it going, it feels like fuel starvation or electrical. The dash lights dont act up when it cuts out, then engine just dies.
The previous owner last paid its tax in 2007...so its sat a good few years. The tank was on empty when i got it, I've run a half tank of new fuel since owning it.
This little wagon can only increase in value soi hope my son will enjoy working on it with me and treasure the car.
Any ideas will be most helpful. I am reading up on posts here with similar issues.
