A question for the connoisseurs:

On Autotrader there's currently a Golf R (11reg) with 65,000mi...or an ED35 (62reg) with 20,000mi, both for £20k.

Both very well kitted out. Only really the ACC and obvious power difference to separate them. So which do you choose??

Love the ED35 alloys over the R's. Plus it's got a touch more subtlety. But there is the small matter of that 34bhp, the ACC and the 4WD.

Be interested to see how this swings.

Or you could have my ED35.....  Best of both woorlds  :smiley:http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=272679.msg2495381#msg2495381

with selectable Revo performance modes it will make more power than the std R, has the rarity value, plus has the Best suspension for a Golf money can buy, Ohlins Road and Track  coilovers, much better than ACC and is more comfortable than a Golf GT, and once firmed up will handle better and be less crashy than stock.
The mods have been chosen to make what I think the GTI should have been like from the factory, with all the lightweight Audi aluminium suspension components aswell.
sales pitch over

Haha, cheers for the offer GS, but I'm going for a part-ex. Really can't be doing with selling the Brera private and WeScamEverySap.com can take a hike.

Unfortunately the R is a 2hr+ drive away in Huddersfield whereas the ED35 is just 10mins away on the other side of Coventry! I'm thinking test drive on Friday afternoon.

(just to add to my dilemma I've spied a nicely spec'd GTi for £13,500...but that's 2hrs the other way in sodding Essex!)

Cheers for the replies kids!
